While the Nordic countries have a solid knowledge base and advanced technologies with improved environmental performance and sustainability in healthcare, also the Netherlands has taken huge steps towards more sustainable and smart healthcare.
This is also demonstrated by the The Green Deal 2.0 for healthcare sector, signed by the Ministry of Health, Welfare, and Sport, sector organisations, NGOs, companies, global authorities, financial institutions, and others. The goal is to lower carbon emissions, promote circular business operations, reduce pharmaceutical residues in water and foster healthy communities. Working together, they can also remove the barriers to sustainable economic growth and innovation in the Netherlands, and see care institutions “take the lead in making healthcare greener”, with other parties actively supporting their efforts.
One of the frontrunners in this work is Philips. Hospitals all over the world already use refurbished medical equipment in partnership with Philips and circular business models open up new opportunities for growth and cost savings. But Philips has even more ambitious plans for the future of healthcare.
Come and listen to the vision of Philips and how they will improve the lives of 3 billion people a year by 2030. Learn how they are working together with stakeholders and startups to make this vision come true and add value for hospitals and patients. The presentation by Robert Metzke from Philips is followed by response from selected Finnish startups.
